Historical Perspective:

The 1958 Master Plan Supplement, which was commissioned by the City-County Planning & Zoning Commission of Lexington and Fayette County, was created “for the purpose of (a) extending and redimensioning the 1950 Land Use Plan of the Lexington municipal area and, particularly, (b) assessing the need for business districts of various categories, and recommending procedures whereby these may be logically located, of appropriate size and developed in an orderly and otherwise desirable manner.”
